The kids absolutely LOVED it!!!!! Turns out the Easter bunny is looking for someone to help him decorate all those eggs, so he decided to let skunk be his assistant. But, skunk has a little trouble controlling his excitement (and stinking spray)! After we read the story, the students said that picking skunk was a terrible choice for an assistant. This led into a perfect writing activity:) Each student completed a job application to become the Easter Bunny's assistant. Of course I mailed those application directly to Easter Island (home of the Easter Bunny) and he promtly sent word that he would hire ALL of us because he needed a lot of help;) I must say, the students' applications were very persuasive...

You're My Pot of Gold!
During the month of March we talked a lot about rainbows, which led us to the precious pot of gold at the end of the rainbow:) We talked about how special it would be to actually find the treasure at the end of the rainbow. Then, I asked the students to think about someone or something in their life that is very special to them...something that is more precious than gold. Each student wrote about their special someone or something and explained what made them so valuable. Check out our "pots of gold"
