Kindergarten Buddies

The week before spring break, we read several books about St. Patrick's Day. These stories started some great conversations in our class about mischevious leprechauns and gleaming pots of gold. After hearing all of these great discussions, I challenged the students to write their own story about a leprechaun coming to school. They were so proud of their stories and illustrations that I asked the kindergarten teachers if we could come in and share them with a kindergarten buddy. So on Friday afternoon, we went into all three kindergarten classes and the students shared their leprechaun stories with several kindergarten friends.
