Katie's Christmas wreath cookie came in first place.
The students learned about the properties of magnets. After reading several non-fiction texts about magnets, we attempted to magnetize a nail by striking it across a magnet. We were able to get a little magnetic attraction from the nail, but not alot. They were very disappointed...possibly we needed stronger magnets:(
The students have been learning how to identify temperature by reading Fahrenheit and Celsius thermometers. The students worked in groups to correctly match the thermometer puzzle pieces to their corresponding Fahrenheit and Celsius readings.
We learned about the Pilgrim's voyage on the Mayflower through interactive websites and informational texts. Afterwards, the students posted facts and information about the voyage on our Mayflower ship.
The students wrote an informational text about the Pilgrim's journey on the Mayflower. Their writing included facts and information about the voyage. Here is a couple of the completed Mayflower projects.
